Abstract

Cooling machines often referred to as AC (Air Conditioner) are used for air conditioning or regulating temperature, humidity, cleanliness, and distribution simultaneously in order to achieve the comfortable conditions needed by residents in it. The simple cycle of a refrigeration machine consists of standard components such as compressor, condenser, expansion valve and evaporator that circulates refrigerant as working fluid. To get the air temperature that suits what is desired, many alternatives can be applied, including by exchanging the type of condenser cooling media using a cooling tower. The purpose of this study is to obtain the performance of the condenser cooling machine and obtain the type of cooling media that produces the best cooling machine performance. The method used in this study was an experiment using equipment from a 0.5 pk split AC machine. . With the type of cooling media condenser air, water, prestone as cooling media. Data recorded in the form of pressure and temperature. Based on the discussion that has been done, the following conclusions can be drawn, the use of different types of cooling media affects the performance of the cooling machine. where the performance of the cooling machine using air, water and prestone has different compressor absorption and work and the type of condenser cooling media that produces the best cooling engine performance is the type of prestone cooling media can be seen from the lowest compressor work with a value of 16.867 (kJ/kg), the highest condenser exhaust heat with a value of 200.237 (kJ/kg), the highest refrigration effect with a value of 183.37 (kJ/kg), the lowest mass flow rate with a value of 0.012 (kJ/kg), the highest actual COP with a value of 10.87, the highest ideal COP with a value of 12.05 and the highest cooling engine efficiency with a value of 90%.
