Abstract

Indonesia has various types of education and one of them is senior high school (SMA). These high school students are included in the adolescent age group who tend to have more curiosity about new things and will try them, so that if the curiosity is not solved it will cause academic stress. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship and influence of social support and hardiness on academic stress in students in sekolah penggerak (kurikulum merdeka). This research is a quantitative study with a correlational design. The subjects in this study amounted to 199 students from class X with cluster random sampling. The data collection method used interviews and psychological scales. The research instruments used were the Educational Stress Scale For Adolescents (ESSA) scale, the Multidimensional Scale Of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS) scale, and the hardiness scale. Data analysis used correlation and multiple linear regression tests. The results of the correlation test show that there is a relationship between social support (X1) and academic stress (Y) with a value of r = -0.428 and p = 0.001 (p <0.05), there is a relationship between hardiness (X2) and academic stress (Y) with a value of r = -0.396 and p = 0.001 (p <0.05), and there is an influence between social support and hardiness on academic stress, with a value of R2 = 0.262 which means that social support and hardiness provide an influence of 26.2% on academic stress.
