Abstract

PT Sekisui Polymatech Indonesia faced obstacles in achieving the target of the carbon printing production process. To address these issues, the company conducted qualitative research using the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) method to propose improvements. By changing the filtering method, the company was able to reduce the time spent on filtering from 36 minutes to 16 minutes. This change also resulted in a decrease in the intensity or frequency of filtering from 12 times to 4 times per shift. The modification of the filtering process also made it easier for the company as the small colliery used originally was replaced with a larger one, enabling a more efficient filtering process. As a result of these improvements, the productivity of the carbon printing production increased from 10.32 hours to 9.99 hours. These findings highlight the importance of continuous improvement (kaizen) in enhancing productivity and achieving the company's targets.
