Abstract

The research in this thesis is motivated by the lack of attention from agricultural laborers towards the education of their children, especially in Islamic religious education, resulting in many children having suboptimal quality of religious education. The issue of agricultural laborers' families concerning the quality of Islamic religious education for children is a relevant matter worthy of consideration for actualization and implementation in Islamic religious education. The research focus of this thesis is as follows: (1) What problems do parents face in addressing the quality of Islamic religious education for their children? (2) What is the relationship between agricultural laborers' families and the quality of Islamic religious education for children in Sukamaju Village? (3) To what extent is the relevance of the issue of agricultural laborers' families to the quality of Islamic religious education for children in Sukamaju Village? The research objectives are as follows: (1) To identify the problems faced by parents regarding the quality of Islamic religious education for their children. (2) To determine the relationship between agricultural laborers' families and the quality of Islamic religious education for children. (3) To assess the relevance of the issue of agricultural laborers' families to the quality of Islamic religious education for children. This thesis is beneficial in the following ways: for researchers, it can provide reference for thoughts and contribute to the enhancement of understanding and implementation of education, enabling them to become professional teachers. For readers, it can raise awareness among the community, particularly parents, about the importance of their responsibility in educating their children, especially in the context of proper and righteous Islamic religious education. For other researchers, it can serve as a comparative material for future research. This research is a qualitative study that is descriptive in nature. It is called qualitative descriptive because the research aims to describe the results obtained from data processing, which includes words and general descriptions of the phenomena observed in the field. It is a field research that provides an overview of the issues faced by agricultural laborers' families. The findings of this research can be summarized as follows: 1) Parents can assist their children in developing a strong understanding of Islamic teachings by teaching them about prayer, reading the Qur'an, and instilling Islamic values directly in their daily lives. This can help children acquire solid knowledge and understanding of Islamic teachings. 2) Parents can encourage their children to participate in congregational prayers at the mosque, fasting during Ramadan, and engaging in religious activities. This will help children develop habits and routines in practicing Islamic religious teachings. 3) Parents can help their children cultivate love and attachment to Islam and broaden their understanding through interactions with a wider community. 4) Parents can provide exemplary behavior and moral guidance to their children, helping them establish a strong moral foundation based on Islamic teachings. 5) Parents can assist their children in developing a sense of social responsibility based on Islamic teachings. Children are taught to care for the needs and well-being of others, including family, neighbors, and the wider community. This can encourage children to engage in social activities, help others, and make positive contributions to the village community.
