Abstract

ABSTRACT Genset is an acronym for "generator set", which is a machine or device consisting of a power plant (generator) with a driving engine. lie in a straight line or may deviate slightly. The generator was complained by consumers because there was a noise identified into 2 possibilities, namely the engine and the generator. in fact to unite the engine and generator by using a flange coupling, the misalignment of the shaft causes vibration which is complained by consumers. Realizing this, measurements of vibration variations of the Double Diaphragm Flange Coupling, Grid and Belt, Disable Dba (Dba), misalignment of the engine and generator shafts are carried out so that no energy is wasted so that the correct flange coupling can be determined. This research was conducted by observing tests on a 160 cc generator engine which were then collected in the form of notes or records in the form of data to determine the effect of vibration variations on the flange coupling. The results of measuring the vibration variation of the grid flange coupling are categorized as dangerous, but compared to measurements of the flange type diaphragm coping and the grid flange coupling belt the level of vibration variation is categorized as moderate, Vibration and noise in the Generator and Engine are caused by bearings which may have to be replaced with quality bearings which is even better.
