Abstract
Solar energy is one of the renewable energy sources that has developed quite rapidly in the world, including Indonesia, therefore it is necessary to develop and utilize the technology of solar power generation systems (PLTS). Solar panels are components that can convert solar thermal energy directly into electrical energy. This panel is a module consisting of several arrays of solar cells. Solar cells consist of a collection of semiconductors, usually silicon, arranged in an orderly manner that can convert photons into electricity, the basic concept of solar cells using the photovoltaic effect. Solar panels are installed statically or dynamically using a tracker. The performance of the Static Solar Power Plant is evaluated and then compared with the Solar Tracker system. The control system based on the Arduino Uno micro controller is designed and applied to a solar tracking system with supporting components LDR, MPPT, actuator, watt meter, breaker and battery. From the research, it was found that the relationship between the angular position of the Solar Panel and time; Electricity production (Watts) produced each time, Total Energy produced and the Sun Peak Hour. Thus the control system design based on the Arduino Uno microcontroller which is applied to the solar panel tracking system is able to work optimally to produce the expected electrical power. Utilization of the automatic solar panel tracking system can improve panel performance and increase electrical power with an average output of almost 2 times more The size of the static solar panel and the intensity of light received by the surface of the solar panel as a whole affect the peak power of electrical energy produced.
