Abstract

ABSTRACT Ika Nuratika : 41182911160145 "Internalization of Multicultural Values in PAI Learning at SMAN 1 Babelan" Thesis, Bekasi: Department of Islamic Religious Education "45" Bekasi 2023. Diversity in the world of education cannot be destroyed but is still vulnerable to discrimination both in terms of student and teacher -student relationships with students. This research was conducted to describe how internalization of multicultural values in PAI learning at SMAN 1 Babelan. This research is a type of qualitative research, the source of data obtained is through primary data and secondary data. Primary data were obtained from the results of interviews with deputy principals, Islamic religious education teachers and several students in class X and XI. Secondary data obtained through books, scientific journals, papers, theses and other literature. Then data collection is carried out through three methods, namely observation, documentation and interview. This research was conducted in SMA Negeri 1 Babelan, this school is the object of research because as a public school that has internalized multicultural values in PAI learning. The results of this study show that there are multicultural values in PAI learning in SMA Negeri 1 Babelan, namely the value of brotherhood, please help, togetherness and tolerance. The internalization process goes through three stages, namely transformation, transaction and transternalization. Through teacher education can help students to be better prepared in facing the challenges of the times that continue to develop, so that teachers must have an adequate understanding of multicultural so that they can be internalized to students. Students of SMA Negeri 1 Babelan have quite diverse characteristics both in terms of religion, background, ethnicity, culture, race and ability. The existence of a minority with the majority is synonymous with discrimination and social inequality between the majority and minority. However, different things actually happened at SMAN 1 Babelan, harmony was established among school residents both students and teachers.
