Abstract

This study aims to examine the application of serial image media to the narrative essay writing skills of elementary school students. The research method used is Systematic Literature Review of 20 journals from 2012-2022. The purpose of this study is to find out how the application of serial image media to narrative essay writing skills. The problem with learning Indonesian in elementary school is that students are still not interested, especially in writing skills. most students when asked to write include student complaints to write with a lot of writing, as well as difficulties in expressing ideas and stringing words into coherent and coherent paragraphs. The type of research used in this study is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) study of 20 journals from 2012-2022. Literature study or literature study of this type of research is used to obtain information and data by examining written sources, namely scientific journals according to the title to be studied. By using the stages: formulating a problem according to the problem specified, conducting a journal search by entering the keywords that have been made, selecting the journals that have been found, analyzing the findings during the journal search process, all the data collected. regarding “skills in writing narrative essays” “series picture media” these data were collected using a predetermined collection standard. The use of picture series media can improve students' narrative essay writing skills because using serial picture media in narrative essay writing skills material will make it easier for students to understand the material and it will be easier to make an essay in a neat and clear manner. The stage of development of elementary school students will be easier to understand the concept when using real media. Likewise, when learning to write narrative essays, learning to write narrative essays really needs the ability to develop the ideas possessed by students so that students are able to put them in written form. By utilizing a serial image media, students' attention will be more focused on the images in the serial image. Using serial image media can also make students more interested in learning.
