Abstract

IMPLEMENTATION OF PESANTREN CURRICULUM IN IMPROVING LITERATURE OF CLASSIC BOOKS AT ANNIDA AL-ISLAMY ISLAMIC BOARDING SCHOOL BEKASI CITY Ifan Misfahudin Universitas Islam 45 Bekasi, Indonesia misfahudinifan@gmail.com ABSTRACT This study aims to: 1) Knowing and analyzing the implementation of pesantren curriculum at the Annida Al Islamy Islamic Boarding School in improving classical book literacy, 2) Knowing and analyzing the level of achievement of classical book learning at the Annida Al Islamy Islamic Boarding School, 3) Knowing and analyzing the supporting factors and barriers to implementation of pesantren curriculum at the Annida Al Islamy Islamic Boarding School in increasing classical book literacy. The research method used is qualitative research with a descriptive approach. In collecting the data, it uses observation, in-depth interviews and documentation, and uses qualitative descriptive data analysis where the researcher describes data systematically about curriculum implementation in improving classical book literacy. This study also checks the validity of the data by using the observation extension technique, increasing persistence, and triangulation. The expected results of the study, that the implementation of pesantren curriculum at the Annida Al Islamy Islamic Boarding School in improving classical book literacy was carried out with the classical system. The material is in accordance with every level, as demonstrated by the increase of fluency in classical book literacy. Similarly, the increase in the number students has also increased, as demonstrated in students who previously had not been fluent to become fluent. The achievements made by the students of this Islamic boarding school are also very good, as evidenced by the frequent winning of MQK (Musabaqoh Kiroatil Kutub) and graduates who continue their studies to well-known universities and even to foreign countries such as University of Al-Azhar, Cairo, Egypt and the University of Medina. The curriculum used is a combination of the Ministry of Religion curriculum and the adoption curriculum from Darul Ulum Mecca so that hopefully with this combination the students would further more improve in classical book literacy and are ready to apply in the community. Supporting factors include: Boarding school leaders and teachers as role models, students with learning motivation, knowledge and teacher's steadfastness in teaching, encouragement from parents, learning discipline and a supportive environment and curriculum. While the inhibiting factors include: Lack of encouragement from parents, teachers who are less enthusiastic about learning and during the COVID-19 pandemic who are less effective in learning.
